Practice
How a project moves through the studio.
Work is taken on one at a time. Each project gets the studio's full attention during its active weeks, which is why the calendar is short on purpose. Two to four commissions in flight at any moment, no more.
Most projects run between four months and three years. The scope is agreed before the drawing starts; the fee is agreed before the scope. No scope creep, no hidden stages.
Disciplines
01
Residential
Private homes, second houses, interiors. From a one-room apartment to a family compound.
02
Cultural
Pavilions, small museums, reading rooms, public rooms. Temporary and permanent.
03
Workplace
Studios and offices for one to fifty people. Adaptive reuse welcomed.
Phases
- 01
Brief & site
Every project begins with a walk of the site and a long conversation about what is wanted and what is not.
- 02
Scheme
The idea earns its complexity or stays simple. Most of the work is subtraction, not addition.
- 03
Construction
Drawings that can be built, materials you can touch. Site visits weekly while work is underway.
- 04
After
I return to every project at least once after completion. Architecture is not finished at handover.
Values
- Long conversations over short ones.
- Honest drawings before marketing renders.
- Small solutions before big ones.
- Credit to collaborators on every project.
- A visit before a proposal.
If the practice sounds like the right fit, the next step is a conversation.
